Meet the Staff - Donald L. Edwards, Ed.D.
In addition to his work in Catholic elementary and secondary schools, Dr. Edwards is presently an adjunct professor in the department of education at Christian Brothers University in Memphis. He previously served in similar positions at Shelby State Community College in Memphis and Bishop College in Dallas, Texas. He is also an associate for Region 5 of the National Catholic Educational Association. Dr. Edwards is a consultant for the Commission on Secondary and Middle Schools of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is frequently called upon to facilitate or chair visiting accreditation committees for government-sponsored or private schools in the area. The author of Valuing Others, published by the Center for Learning, consistent with his strong background in Catholic education and social teaching, Dr. Edwards is a strong proponent of values-based education and character education. Dr. Edwards holds Bachelor Degrees in Biology and Music from Bishop College in Dallas, Texas; a Master of Education Degree from Memphis State University, and the Doctor of Education Degree in Child and Youth Studies from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale Florida. He has also received extensive training in the areas of administration, curriculum, institutional advancement, and enrollment management from the Institutes for Catholic School Leadership at the University of St. Thomas, Christian Brothers University, the University of Dayton and CSM’s Certificate Programs at the University of Notre Dame. Donald serves Catholic School Management and its clients on a part time basis, specializing in school assessments, administration, curriculum and faith community affairs. July 2008 |
