Meet the Staff - Gail I. Sherman
Gail Sherman is currently Associate Superintendent for Curriculum, Development & Programs for Catholic schools in the Diocese of Sacramento, California. Gail has served the Diocese of Sacramento since 2003. Gail began her career in Catholic education teaching at the elementary school level with the Diocese of Sacramento in 1979. Prior to her current position as Associate Superintendent, Gail served as a principal for eleven years after having taught all subjects at various grade levels for thirteen years in Catholic schools. Gail was the founding principal of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School in Elk Grove, California. Gail currently works closely with all Catholic school principals and boards in Catholic schools in the Diocese of Sacramento, continuing the strategic management work begun many years ago with the assistance of Catholic School Management. Gail received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from California State University, Chico. She holds a Master’s degree in Education Administration from St. Mary’s College, Moraga, California, and holds a California Life Credential – Multiple Subjects for Grades K-12. Gail also serves as a Commissioner for the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA)/Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and has served on the Board of Consulters for the Western Catholic Educational Association since 2003. She has served as a lector in her home parish of Sacred Heart in Sacramento since 1990 and was honored by St. Mary’s College, Moraga, as “Outstanding Graduate of the Educational Leadership Program” in 1997-1998. Gail serves Catholic School Management and its clients on a part-time basis primarily in the areas of comprehensive development and strategic management programs. May 2009 |
